SAD ANNOUNCEMENT and SPECIAL GIG:
It is with a heavy heart that must tell all that Roadhouse legend, our drummer Roger Hunt died yesterday after a long battle with very serious illness. A founder member of the Band back in 1991 Roger drummed the Band through to their last major appearance at the Skegness Festival. He had one 5 year period away from the Band but re-joined and his rock solid drumming and production skills saw us through 10 of our 12 albums.
He did so much for the Band from generating marketing material and graphics through to driving the tour bus through Europe, he carried the Band a long way on its journey.
The Band will be ever the poorer for his loss and our thoughts and condolences go out to Lou his Wife, Tyler and the rest of his family

THE PASSING OF ALAN PEARCE…………I am saddened to announce the death of the great Alan Pearce the man behind Blues Matters magazine and the Head of our Record Company. A great man who leaves a huge legacy he did so much for music in this Country. A superb colleague and a close personal friend. Our condolences to his lovely Family
In recent times we have also lost the superb Drew Barron our old Canadian Guitarist who played on our Broken Land CD, who was taken a few months ago by Covid. And more recently the passing of Dr Noel Brown the guitarist who preceded Drew and who played on our Tellin Lies and Dark Ride Cd’s. We mourn their loss and will never forget. Along with Jules Fothergill people talk of the curse of being a Roadhouse guitar player.
GOODBYE DANNY HELLO CHRIS
Unfortunately the brilliant Danny Gwilym has left the Band. This was not due to musical differences but more of a life decision for him. The Band would like to thank Danny for all the years of great guitar playing and musical ideas he provided across hundreds of live performances and 4 great albums
Please join me in welcoming the amazing Chris Walker into the Band as Lead Guitarist. It’s rare that with one top player leaving that you can find another to replace him, but fortunately for us this is the case here.

Then on the Sunday night we played our 90 minute main set on the same stage. This was an epic performance and the crowd went from over 400 for us to less than 20 at the end of our set. HISTORY OF ROADHOUSE:
Roadhouse are one of the UK’s most established, big stage Blues/Rock acts. A collaboration between experienced Blues/Rock musicians and talented female vocalists, Roadhouse are generally regarded as generating some of the best original material in the UK. Lead by acclaimed song writer, song writer, guitar player and singer, Gary Boner; 2010 saw the Band go from strength to strength.
– Over 2,000 live shows, including many high profile festival appearances
– Appearances at Glastonbury 2010, 11 appearances at the National Festival of Blues & Rock Skegness, 7 appearances at the National R&B Festival Colne, 2 at the National Blues Festival Burnley and numerous festivals across Belgium, The Netherlands, Ireland and France. This includes playing to nearly 10,000 people at the Antwerp festival with Dr Feelgood and John Hammond in 2005
– The release of 12 critically accalimed CD’s, that have achieved play (frequently full rotation) on over 500 radio stations in more than 30 different countries
– Live appearance (3 tracks) on the Paul Jones Show, BBC2 in 2004
– Roadhouse have opened for and in some cases played higher on the bill, than some major artists including:
Walter Trout, Joe Bonamassa, The Animals, The Yardbirds, Dr Feelgood, Nine Below Zero, The Hamsters, Wilco Johnson, Mick Taylor (of the Rolling Stones), Pat Travers and others too many to mention
Roadhouse was formed in the early 1990’s by Gary Boner and Robert.A.Roberts (past member) ably assisted throughout by the driving bass of Bill Hobley. The Band has been rebuilt following the sad demise of drummer Roger Hunt and he has been replaced by the Bands long term friend Frank Dymore.
Roadhouse Are – The current line up is:
Gary Boner- Guitar and Vocals
Chris Walker – Lead Guitar
Bill Hobley – Bass
Frank Dymore – Drums
Mandy.G – Vocals
Kelly Marie – Vocals
The Band produces a sound all of its own. It’s basically ‘Southern Gothic Americana’ with a splash of added South London. In the words of a recent Maverick Review:
“Britain’s finest Roots rockers, a dark coming together of Country, Rock and Blues”
The current release is the highly acclaimed ‘City of Decay’. which rode high in all the Blues Charts and the new album 2,000 Miles on the Road is scheduled for release in July
Roadhouse’s music has always been different, country-rock, heading into roots and blues, with a dark, cinematic, film noir kind of world view, they still follow the rock and roll routes of America, but its laced with the dirtier back streets of London. 2,000 Miles will be the band’s 12th album and will be the pinnacle of their achievements,
City of Decay – “Rumbling, roaring and screaming in pain while never losing track of the dark country undertones” – Nick Dalton, Maverick Magazine
